YouTube has been one of the strongest video streaming platform from more than a decade. It is used by almost all the users who uses internet either through smartphone or by laptop/PC. There are many good features with the app yet there are few shortcomings on which it is working to solve.
Unfortunately while playing video from YouTube on your smartphone you have no option to minimise it and it plays in background. This becomes annoying when you got any notification or message and you have to minimise the app which stops the video and audio from playing.
Playing youtube video in the background is only possible with YouTube red which unfortunately is not available for use in India.
So we are here with a trick which will allow you to play YouTube videos in the background.
Follow the below steps:
- Open Google Chrome browser on your smartphone.
- Tap on the three vertical dots at the top right and select Request Desktop Site.
- You will get a pop-up asking your permissions to send you notification. Accept it if you like to play the videos in the background.
- Play the video of your choice and then minimize the app.
- Resume the playback by clicking on play button from the notification icon on top of your phone.
